Couple says 'love at first sight'

October 6th, 2010

Roland Eugene Sink

Grace and Roland said “It was love at first sight.” Two months later, on Sept. 18, they were married.

Grace has a spring to her step. She served as a secretary to teamster Jimmy Hoffa many years ago. She is also the former owner of the Posy flower shop. Roland, who sometimes calls himself Tarzan, taught business math at Pasadena College for many years. He placed fourth in track and field in the 1948 Olympics in London and was pictured in Life Magazine.

Grace was divorced 22 years ago, and Roland has been a widower for more than a year.

At their wedding, Roland cheered as Gracie approached the aisle and said, “Yeah baby.” He was so anxious to say “I do,” the lay minister had to tell him to wait until he got to that part.

Roland told the Alfred Angelo Bridal shop sales person in Brea, “This is forever,” when they were selecting their outfits.

Never seen a happier couple and wish them the best.
