Average retail gasoline prices in Minnesota have risen 6.0 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.78 per gallon today, April 5.

This compares with the national average that has increased 3.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.83 per gallon, according to independent gasoline price Web site

Locally, gas prices are right at or below the national and state averages.

Seven service stations inside the cities of Mora and Ogilvie were randomly sampled Monday afternoon; four filling stops, all in Mora, were charging $2.75 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, while the other three surveyed were at $2.79.

Including the change in gas prices in Minnesota during the past week, prices this week are 82.8 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 1.2 cents per gallon flat than a month ago. The national average has increased 10.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 82.0 cents per gallon higher than this day a year ago.
