Wrestlers Who Are Ruining Their Image
I know a lot of obvious characters are not listed but we need to look at the top draws of the company and the people with the experience. Yes there are others but I feel that these wrestlers listed need to realise that we, the WWE universe, look to them for some sort of relief, however they have really taken a back seat and have become nothing more then observers.
I know some of them are doing good to secure the WWE future but come on now, there may not be a future with how things are going, so sort the present out.
Chris Jericho
Is it me or does anyone else feel that Jericho’s new character is ruining the business we once all loved. With the crowd being PG I feel that they cant appreciate the new heel Jericho, as his persona is too big and hard to understand for kids.
That is why the WWE should go back to Y2J the rock star that particular character really got the crowd going, young or old. He was the only other character besides the Rock that used to have a handful of catch phrases that the crowd will join in on. Also Jericho’s matches are so boring these days just look at WrestleMania 26 and compare that to WrestleMania 19. Jericho’s new character has destroyed his image.
Jack Swagger
Swagger is listed because he is the current face of Smackdown and I don’t know about you but I ain’t liking what I am seeing.
He has no charisma or character yet he is the world heavyweight champion, that doesn’t make sense to me, why don’t we just give the title to Vladmir Kozlov and call it a day rather then waste our time.
Big Show
This guy used to be such a menacing force, but look at him now, he has become a joke. I assure you he will lose against swagger. I hate his style of wrestling, it is too MMA i.e. punching and take downs as opposed to his old style of power. I feel he should grow his hair back and go on a rampage.
HHH
Yes it is not his fault, but he has become so stale that ducks wont find him attractive. His face turn is just annoying, repetitive, and boring. I remember the days when HHH would come out with his denim coat, jeans and black shirt and raise the roof off of any arena, so why has he become such a bore?
Well he has faced every top draw in the company at least 15 times, so we all know what the routine and the buildup of the match is going to be. HHH needs to be a heel again so that the crowd can appreciate him now so that his legacy does not become diminished. His segments with Hornswoggle were so bad, here is a guy who had such a great feud with Rock in 2000, just look at him now.
Kane
I know he is doing big favours for all the rising stars by putting them over. However, here is the problem: no one wants to see a Kane match anymore because we all know he will lose. Does anyone else remember when was the last time Kane actually won a match against a big draw?
Batista has beaten him so many times that Kane is starting to look like the brawler. Where did it all go wrong? I feel that the creative team did not have any ideas to give Kane for his character because it has all been done before, which is fine but at least give us monster Kane back who used to get up after a chair shot, now he is just a jobber.
John Cena
Just turn heel, for the love of God, turn heel. Besides RVD and Mysterio, the WWE has not seen a guy be face for such a long time. I know he brings the money in and sells a crap load of merchandise, but his character has become so boring and old. He is not allowing guys like Orton and Edge to take the place as face of the company or do a role reversal in a match, i.e. Summerslam 1998 Rock was a heel and HHH was face. At Backlash 2000, Rock was a face and HHH was a heel. Cena was a face when he met Orton in 2005, and while Orton is a heel five years later, well you no what I mean…
Ok I know I am going to get a lot of rants and hate from this article but let’s look a bit closer, I mean do these wrestlers’ personas or characters really suit the PG era? I feel that you should not make everyone a face just because it portrays a good image to kids; I mean we have to have a balance.
I know everyone loves Jericho’s gimmick because it reminds them some what of a better time, but do you really like it, does it really satisfy you? I know because he has lost all his charisma him standing next to the Miz makes Jericho look a rookie. Y2J needs to come back as he will have a good chemistry with the audience and maybe start the revival.
These wrestlers, although loved and admired by many, need to realise that because they are the top draws of the business they must realise that whatever they do reflects the TV audience more then the crowd that watches the matches. Just look at the ratings.
Characters that work
New Jericho should be Y2J
Kane should be a monster
John Cena needs to realise that popular or not you have to take one for the team.
Jack Swagger needs charisma—maybe he should call Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and ask her if the professor can hook him up.
Yes, I know these guys don’t have the Rock or Austin to help them to create matches, but guys like Orton, Punk, Edge, Christian and others are doing well. I mean their characters have developed, they are able to become a face or heel if they choose and they do get reactions from the crowd.
Let the hate begin…
