Free Car Door Magnets

Car door magnets are a terrific way to advertise your local business or your website to a local audience. There is a reason why politicians use them to promote themselves in every election: they work!   The beauty of car door magnets is that hundreds, if not thousands, of people see your car every day already and when you are in traffic you have someone’s undivided attention. What better time to stick an advertisement in their face?

In this review we will be taking a look at the VistaPrint free car door magnets.  As usual we placed 3 separate free orders to get a better feel for the product, order process and company.

This review is broken down into the following sections:

  1. Is it for real?
  2. Who can get them?
  3. Selection
  4. Customization
  5. Order Process
  6. Delivery/Post Order Process
  7. Quality and Satisfaction

1) Free car door magnets scam?

I know, I know. It hard to hear the word free and believe it, but when dealing with VistaPrint it’s the real deal. VistaPrint is a HUGE corporation with tons of money behind their worldwide advertising network. Giving away free products is one of their ways of advertising their products. As usual you will only be charged shipping for your free car door magnets.

2) So fun everyone will want one!

Seriously, who couldn’t benefit from a free car door magnet? Business owners, realtors, free lance employees, restaurants, charities, wedding couples, event staff, company vehicles, musicians, artists, and, of course, politicians are all perfect applications for a free car door magnet.  The list goes on and on for uses of these. Chances are: no matter what you do you will need one of these!

3) 36 free designs to choose from.

Finding a design that suits you and your needs should be no problem, there are 36 designs available to choose from for the free car door magnets. Everything from plain and simple to industry specific the selection is really very extensive.  However, some of the designs, in my opinion, are not well suited for placement on a car because they are too busy or difficult to read. The last thing you want is to be causing car accidents while advertising.

4) So easy that the office intern can do it.

If you have read any of our other reviews about VistaPrint then you will know how much we love the customization interface. They make it quite simple to edit the text on your free car door magnets quickly and accurately. The only thing to keep in mind is that the text you are able to customize is determined by the design you choose. Some designs have elements that others do not such as a spot to put your website or business license.

5) The VistaPrint (in)famous order process

If you have ever gotten anything free from VistaPrint before then you know they are the kings of up selling. You will be bombarded with offers to purchase premium car door magnets and other items that go along with your free car door magnet. As usual it is not necessary to purchase anything from them to get your free car door magnet, so just search out the “Continue” button and click away!

6) Delivery/Post Order

The “hard” part is now done. After we finished ordering we got the traditional confirmation email and then we patiently stared at the mailbox waiting for the mailman. The average delivery time was 14 days for the free car door magnets. Which is a bit longer than it took for our free business cards but is still pretty good time if you consider they have to print and cut the magnet as well as ship it.

7) It doesn’t get any better than this!

The free car door magnet looks amazing; there is no difference in quality between the free ones and the premium car door magnets. The magnet itself is strong and holds tight to the car, but is flexible so it does not damage the paint at all. The print is glossy and holds up to the rain perfectly while the colors are bright and sharp.  The text is placed and printed clearly where we specified while customizing.

One thing to consider is the size. The free car door magnet is 11.25” x 8.5”, if you have a lot of information you may need to purchase the larger car door magnet (17.3” x 11.25”) so the information fits without being too cluttered.

I Love You Valentine's Craft: Sign Language Finger Spelling Art …

May 22nd, 2010

Sign Language Finger Spelling Art Project

Jan 8, 2010Susan Caplan

For children who’ve been introduced to American Sign Language (ASL), this craft project gives children several ways to show their love in a craft project for Valentine’s Day or any other special day during the year. This craft starts with a tracing of a child’s hand that is cut out and shaped into the sign for “I Love You.” Make it from fun foam to craft a pin or magnet. Cut the sign from paper for a greeting card.

ASL Craft – “I Love You” Pin

Have a child place his or her hand flat on a piece of craft foam with fingers slightly splayed. Trace the hand. Cut out the shape. With the thumb pointing right, fold the middle and the ring finger to the palm. Leave a slight curve to the fingers where they bend. Use foam glue or hot glue to hold the fingers in place. On the back of the shape, hot glue a pin back.

Optional – decorate the hand with glitter, rhinestones, or designs drawn with a permanent marker.

Sign Language “I Love You” and Alphabet Magnets

Follow the directions for the “I Love You” pin to cut and shape the hand from craft foam. Add a magnet to the back of the symbol. Decorate, or not, as desired.

Make a set of craft foam hands formed into all of the letters of the ASL alphabet. Hot glue onto magnets and provide a magnetic surface (such as a cookie sheet) for children to practice spelling words with these alphabet magnets.

Sign Language Greeting Card Craft

Repeat the directions for tracing, cutting out, and forming the sign, only make the shape from colored or construction paper. Now, take a four-inch strip of paper and fold it back-and-forth in an accordion-fold (make the folds a half-inch to one inch each). Since the sign is made by positioning the fingers of the right hand and then shaking the hand, this strip of paper will help make the hand move.

Glue one end of the accordion-fold spring to the back of the hand, near the base of the fingers. Now, fold a sheet of cardstock or construction paper in half to form a card. Decorate the front of the card as desired, perhaps gluing on a paper doily to act as a frame or backdrop for the hand symbol. The “I Love You” symbol can be place either on the front of the card or inside the card. In either case, glue the other end of the paper spring to the card. The hand shape will shake a bit.

Children can use the American Sign Language symbol for “I Love You” to create a decorative pin, a magnet, or a greeting card. Give these items on Valentine’s Day to send this message to someone special.
