3D computer graphics software is used in a wide array of industries:

This software package caters to game developers and professionals in the film and TV industries. Its aim is to simplify collaboration, creation and workflows. Latest 3ds Max release introduces several new features: PFlowAdvanced, integrated mental mill technology, the Material Explorer, the Graphite Modeling Toolset, Containers, the xView Mesh Analyzer, the OBJ Import, the ProOptimizer, the ProSound Multitrack Audio system, Global Quality Knobs for mental ray, C and .NET Support, and also some performance improvements.

It’s the eleventh generation of the Maxon Cinema 4D software package. Its creators claim it is the easiest 3D animation tool in the market. It is a fully integrated 3D package, which includes parametric and polygonal modeling, a high-end material system, integrated 3D painting, a non-linear animation system, a fast render engine, and modular expandability.

System requirements for Maxon Cinema 4D:

Minimum system requirements are as follows: Windows XP or Vista running on Intel or AMD CPU with SSE2-Support; Mac OS X 10.4 or higher running on PowerPC G5 or Intel Mac; 1024 MB RAM, DVD ROM drive.

Supported operating systems include: in the case of Win OS: Windows 7 (all variations), Windows Vista (all variations), Windows Vista 64-bit (all variations), Windows 2008 Server, Windows 2008 Server 64-bit, Windows XP (Pro / Home), Service Pack 1 & 2, Windows XP Pro 64-bit, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2003 Server 64-bit. in the case of Mac OS: Apple OS X 10.6 (and up), Apple Mac OS X 10.5.3 (and up), and Apple Mac OS X 10.4.11.

Please be aware that Maxon Cinema 4D does not support render acceleration cards, such as the Gelato (cards from Nvidia), the Aegis Physix, the BlueICE, or the ART VPS. also be aware that game consoles are usually not supported and should not be used for rendering with NET Render.

Ask Hollow Drive lead guitarist Markus Wells about the band’s fans and you’ll quickly be corrected.

“We don’t have fans; we have friends,” Wells said. “Anybody who works 40 hours a week and then spends their hard-earned money to see us play and supports us is a friend of mine.

“We’re a very personable band. … if you sign up for our text list, I’ll send you a text and let you know when we’re playing and then continue to carry on a conversation for hours.”

The five-member Jackson-based metal band is looking to take the next step. The group signed with DBM Records early last year and will release a six-track EP, titled “The Architect,” on Jan. 30 with a release party at the Michigan Theatre, 124 N. Mechanic., 783-0962.

That day, Hollow Drive will be part of an evening of hard rock at the Michigan Theatre, which includes Nonpoint, the show’s headliner, along with other opening acts Straight Line Stitch, Violets for Verona, Red Line Chemistry, Blackened Earth, Chaos Theory and Frequency Fifty Four.

Tickets are $10 in advance and are available at etix.com or at CK Barrymore, 140 N. Mechanic, 789-8489. Tickets also will be available at the door, which opens at 2 p.m., for $15.

Copies of “The Architect” will be available at the show for $5.

Wells calls the band’s latest work more “radio friendly” than its previous CD, the 14-track “From the Ashes.”

“The label has been on us to tweak our sound a little bit,” Wells said. “We knew we wanted to be a hard band — and we are a hard band — but now we’ve added some bigger choruses and more background vocals.

“with the label, we’ve learned more about what the commercial listener is looking for.”

Along with Wells, Hollow Drive features Mad Mike Wells on drums and sampling, Big Al Consiglio on guitar and vocals, Sam Wagner on bass and vocalist Ryan Grove.

Adjustable weight drivers and static weighted drivers are arguably the hottest product in golf today. These are drivers that are designed to affect the flight of the ball to fly in a specific way. The combinations can promote higher or lower ball flight, draw spin or fade spin, or straight ball flight. The adjustable weight drivers are just that, adjustable, the rules of golf allow the weights in the clubs to be adjustable, so long as they are not moved during a round. The same high strength titanium alloys that allow the head designers to make the jumbo sized heads of today, makes it possible to specifically place the weights in the desired area of the head.

Now we know that specific weighting works and has been known for a long time, your question might be “how will it help me”? The answer to that question depends on how consistent you are with where the ball hits your clubface. If you tend to spray the ball all over the course in random patterns, you would probably be better served if you bought a club with the maximum forgiveness. But, if you have one fairly consistent ball flight, (draw, hook, slice, fade), weighted heads can help you lessen the effects of miss hits.
