Man who filed lawsuit in Hepatitis C exposure case testifies

April 27th, 2010

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) – The man who filed the first civil lawsuit in the Hepatitis C exposure case is taking the stand. 62 year old Henry Chanin and his wife are suing two drug companies. He claims he and thousands of Southern Nevadans were exposed to Hepatitis C by the way the anesthetic Propofol was packaged and sold.

Chanin described the painful body rash he developed after his colonoscopy at the Desert Shadow Endoscopy Center in 2006. He also talked about how his boss Meadows School founder and CEO Carolyn Goodman obtained a golf cart for him when she noticed he was having health problems.

“I don’t know how I would have gotten through a good part of my duties for that six months without having a golf cart to get around,” said Chanin.

Mrs. Goodman also testified she supported her school’s headmaster when he revealed he was being treated for Hepatitis C in 2008. Chanin returns to the witness stand Tuesday.
