BAR HARBOR — The summer may be winding down, but the cruise ship visitation season is getting to its busiest time.

Out of the 120 cruise ship visits slated for this year there are nearly 75 still to go.

In September, there will only be five days all month that a cruise ship won’t be in the harbor. In October, seven days will be ship-less.

The grand dame of Cunard Lines, the luxurious Queen Mary 2, is slated to drop anchor in Bar Harbor on Monday, Sept. 6. She will return on Saturday, Oct. 9 and again on Thursday, Oct. 28.
