Rabbit Diarrhea problem?
My bun maisy has been out in her run lately and been eating alot of grass for the first time since summer, last night I got her in and she seemed quieter than usual.
PS. I swapped her food 3 days ago
Today I put her on her harness , picked her up and she smelt funny, she had really soft stools stuck to her bum. I got them off the best I could & I cleaned her hutch out. She still eating and is drinking but my mum rang the vet and they said it would cost £104 TO EXAMINE HER!!! We can’t afford that just for a check up, will she be ok til monday?
thanks , i thought that was why but I couldn’t risk losing her but i simply cudnt afford £104 for the vet to just tell me that she was ok x
Ahh, easy answer! Maisy, does not need to go to the vet, she has diarrhea from the grass, which is very common! When you wal khe,r try not to let her eat the grass, also, for future refrence, when changing foods, it should be a gradual change.
Old food 1/4 Cup- 1 tablespoon new food
Old food 1/4 Cup- 2 tablespoons new food, etc
