Artisans' Guild Gallery Opens 4th Annual Art Exhibition at Santa Fe College June 1

The President’s HallGallery on Santa Fe College’s Northwest campus is hosting the fourth annual Artisans’ Guild Galleryexhibition.
The show runs June 1 to July 14, with 44 pieces by 18 different artists. Media includes oils, traditional and digitalphotography, mixed media, clay and metal sculpture, fabric art, acrylics, quilting, watercolors and more.
While there is plenty oftraditional wall art, many of the works could fit into a house beautiful theme. Several of the artists have taken household items to a whole newlevel.
Well-known quilters Candace McCaffery and Elizabeth Strickland will show their trademark quilts.Sculptor Kate Shakeshaft Murray has a series of pieces that would enhance any kitchen, including a striped stoneware coffeeservice.
Sharon Cates colors the world with her stained glass mosaic. Glass is also the medium for AlisonDvorchik, whose lampwork beads are formed by applying a torch to glass rods. The technique is derived from traditional Murano glass art butincorporates Japanese, German and American techniques as well.
If you want to head out to the garden, Nancy Gildersleeve’sWisteria basket would add a lot of charm to the trip. Once there, Barbara Knutson’s tree-inspired birdbaths would add asource of beauty.
For those who prefer their art framed, local artists like Linda Pence, and Ann Ramsden,and several others will offer plenty to take in.
