Get Stuffed Take Away – St. Mary’s Place Newcastle upon Tyne

The well known “Get Stuffed” take away on  St. Mary’s Place in Newcastle upon Tyne is placed in the heart of the Haymarket area which plays host to many student appetites due to it’s location in close proximity to two major universities, Northumbria University and Newcastle University.

The local student residents and the drunken masses from Newcastle’s thriving nightlife often grace this take away with their presence right into the early hours as the advertised opening hours are until 3:30 am most nights.  - Just what is needed after a good night out!

The menu at Get Stuffed definitely gives even the most picky some good room for thought with the extensive range of Pizzas, Kebabs, Burgers, Fish & Chips, Wraps and Southern Fried Chicken.

The quality of the food at Get Stuffed was certainly higher than most city centre take aways but their pizza dough could do with some work. Although very tasty and not at all greasy, the dough was a little on the crunchy side, more like a biscuit, I’m afraid to say.

The Donner Kebab we tasted was full of flavour and not so greasy, which is great for a meat like Donner. We were very surprised to say to ourselves that on our first, official, review we may have found one of the tastiest we are likely to find within the cities border. Pricing on the kebab compared to their “meat and chips” was a little confusing as the kebab was cheapest and yet it comes with more sauce and a pitta bread full of salad.

Either way, at Get Stuffed, our party of 3 was fully fed and happy for under £10 with their great meal deals!

The service we experienced was of a good standard, we received our food quickly by very polite staff and we could not fault anything we saw.

Get Stuffed offer a lunchtime menu at their Newcastle store which they call The Culture Cafe. They use their experience in good take away food to provide a welcoming lunchtime alternative to the standard packed lunch or pasty!
