The Great Sports Name Hall of Fame: Card Shops I've Personally …
Many thanks to A Cardboard Problem for inspiring this list! The shops are ranked by state first and then by overall score, on a scale of 10 (best) to 1 (worst), just so you all know!
Just click the hyperlink for any given store, and you’ll find the store’s address, phone #, and what kind of stuff you can expect to find there. I’ve personally been to all of these stores, so feel free to comment or e-mail any further questions you might have!

Hockey registrations open next week
It’s registration time again. Hockey is a family game where mum and dad and the kids are catered for in seniors, intermediates (U/15), juniors (U/11) and minky (little tackers).
The division groupings are dependent on ability, experience and not on age alone. All divisions are mixed with males in the senior play under modified rules.
Cowra Hockey will be holding registration afternoons on Wednesdays, March 24 and 31, from 4pm to 6pm at the hockey fields opposite McDonalds.
All players must be registered before they play.
As previously mentioned Anna White is being supported by Cowra Hockey in the Cowra Youth Ambassador of the Year.
As part of our support, the White family and Cowra Hockey will be putting a float into the Festival Parade this Saturday March 20, and we need lots of volunteers to be a part of the parade in support of Anna and hockey.
Keen players and their families are asked to meet at the corner of Brougham Park near the croquet club before 12.30pm.
Come dressed in your hockey shorts/skirt and a red, green or white shirt and socks. Bring your hockey sticks too.
The parade finishes at River Park behind the pool. It would be great to have as many people as possible.
There will be a meeting on Monday, March 22, at the Cowra Services Club. Two representatives from all teams who are intending to participate in this year’s competition must attend this meeting.
In order for the competition to commence on April 17, the number of teams needs to be known so that the draw can be finalised.
Brenda Hannan from Cowra Hockey has been given 50 copies of “Tradition & Transformations – A tribute to NSW women in hockey, 1908 -2008”, courtesy of NSW Women’s Hockey Association.
Cowra Hockey receives a couple of mentions in this tome with Marrion Starr on pg 89 as the “Mrs Hockey” of Cowra and a photo of Gillian Dodd, nee Hogg and her winning team in the 1969 Cowra competition are specifically noted.
There are plenty of great pictures and some interesting stories covering this 100 years of hockey.
Anyone who would like a copy of this piece of memorabilia can contact Brenda Hannan.
Any hockey inquiries need to be directed to the President of Cowra Hockey Glen Anderson 63424228.
