How to Sell Beanie Babies

April 1st, 2010

First of all, it is important to determine the value of your Beanie Baby. This is important because then you will know that you are not getting ripped off, and the amount that you are receiving is appropriate. Of course ideally, you want to sell for the highest possible amount, but having a figure to base off of is very convenient as well.

Steps to determine the value of your Beanie Baby:

Check the official Beanie Baby website to determine if the Beanie Baby that you are trying to sell is retired. This is important, as a retired Beanie Baby will be a lot more valuable than a more commonplace non-retired Beanie Baby

Read Beanie Baby Collector Guides. These can be either found online, or at your local bookstore/hobbystore

Research on the internet about your particular Beanie Baby.

Talk to knowledgeable people to see if they can appraise your Beanie Babies value.

Checking your Beanie Babies

Look at the tags of your Beanie Baby. A Beanie Babies tags are very important as they prove that your Baby is original and in good condition.

Beanie Babies with tags that are perfectly preserved are in mint condition and can be sold in such state.

Tags that are slightly bent are near mint and rate at 80% or market price. These Beanie Babies are near-mint.

Tags that are creased are in excellent condition and are around 65% of market price

Tags that are missing or ripped are in good condition and are about 45% of the market price

Beanie Babies that have tears or rips in the Baby itself or missing parts such as ears or noses can range from 5-35% of market price depending on its condition.

Note that Beanie Babies with manufacturer defects such as missing spots or tails are not officially priced, but have higher than market value. If you have a market defect Baby it might be worth much more than you originally bought it for! Please consult the top of the guide to determine what to do in order to sell it for a profit!

Also, tag errors such as spelling mistakes etc, on hang tags are easily fixed and not worth that much more. However tush-tag mistakes are definitely considered market defects and have the potential to sell at a higher value!

Websites

There are many sites buying Beanie Babies. Once you have appraised the value of your Beanie Baby, you can contact them for a potential sale. The rarer your Beanie Baby is, the more it is worth, and the more you can sell it!Sell2BBNovelties.com is buying your TY Beanie Babies, Webkinz, Yu-Gi-Oh Cards, Pokemon cards & more.Welcome to the TY Beanie Babies category.

Here you will find links to all the TY Beanie Babies that we are currently buying and the prices we are paying for them. They are listed in alphabetical order. Before processing a sell order please read through the following information to make sure that your items meet the condition & quality we need.

We are mainly looking to purchase MINT (or like new) items. When determining the condition of a TY Beanie Baby or any other TY item there are two important features. First is the condition of the Beanie itself and second the hang tag. 99% of the items we are looking for have to be in mint condition, kept new & clean.

Mint Condition: Means clean & like new. The beanie itself can not be dirty, played with, soiled, discolored or worn. It should also not have any strange odor such as smoke, animal scents or any other bad odor. The hang tag is to be like new meaning no creases, bends, price sticker(s), fading etc… (In otherwords, If you kept your items stored away & clean, then we are likely to purchase them. On the other hand, if your items were used as toys and played with, then we most likely won’t be interested in purchasing.)

There are exceptions to the rules above and in some cases we will purchase items in Non-Mint or No Tag condition for a lower value. This is only for a few of the high dollar items. We have made special notes in the descriptions for these items.

I really don’t think this green old time lady liked the way you mistreated her! She needs some warm valve tone or just a little touch of valve distortion to play some serious blues! I think it’s pretty dumbish to play distorted things with such a baby….

This one took us a while to figure out, but here’s the deal: you apply a hydrogen peroxide gel to your teeth, use the included cheek retractors (we’re not kidding) to stretch out into a horrifying smile, and let the blue LEDs activate the gel’s superpowers. To fill the one-hour treatment time with something other than thinking about where your vanity has led you, the kit also comes with “a real, high-quality MUSIC HEADSET” (aka headphones) that you can hook up to an MP3 player. The wholesale site even advertises “terrific high-profit margins,” which we reckon might be the truest thing about this product.
