“Luminarc Quadro 2-Liter Glass? Pitcher with Lid?” 2010-05-04
By William Barkley (Chicago, Illinois)
I bought two of these because I like the ones I have and needed two more.

Luminarc is getting VERY cheap! My older(5 years) pitchers are very obviously

made out of glass. I still am NOT convinced that the new ones aren’t made out

of plastic. Incredibly thin/Half the weight!

The lids DO NOT SEAL any where near a well as my older ones.

“Holds water, but not that great at it” 2010-05-04

I guess this pitcher does what it’s supposed to, holds water. It does not however hold it very well when pouring, the lid doesn’t seal the top so that water can’t get out anywhere but the designed sput and there is no actual way to close it, as twisting the lid to a “closed” position does nothing. The problem with this is that if you lean the pitcher a bit too much the water starts randomly coming out of places other than the spout. In addition there isn’t an actual handle, its 2 indentations on the sides of the pitcher. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

 “False advertising; Plastic Pitcher” 2010-04-28
By James Stein (Staten Island, NY United States)
The pitcher is well shaped, sturdy, has a great spout and lid, and everything else I’d want in a pitcher. Except, of course, that I was shopping for a glass pitcher, and – despite this one being titled glass – this pitcher was made of plastic.

It wasn’t just made of plastic, it was *obviously* made of plastic. Its feel, resilience to direct blow, and slow melt + smell on direct exposure to flame. This is a plastic pitcher advertised as glass, while many people are searching for glass pitchers specifically to escape plastic mingling with their foodstuffs.

I returned it to Amazon, and wouldn’t trust Luminarc’s advertising practices in the future.

 “Standard Glass Pitcher” 2010-02-10
By Dee in Topeka (TOPEKA, KS, US)
This is a nice looking/functional beverage pitcher. However, I’ve noticed that on occasion when pouring juice or whatever, it has a tendency to “drip” or “spill” around the edges of the opening and outside the pouring spout. When this happens, it makes a mess on the counter. I’m kinda disappointed with that aspect of the pitcher.

 “Nice Glass Pitcher” 2010-02-09
By Amy Y. (FREMONT, CA USA)
I love glass. I like nice heavy drinking glasses made in France. I am always leaving my glasses in the fridge to chill. I have a juicer and it has never suited me to store my juiced juices in plastic. It just seems… gauche. I really like this pitcher. It hold a chill nicely. It’s not as heavy as I’d like. Some of the Italian brand glass pitchers have more of a heft to them. Of course, it probably makes it more ergonomic and more suitable for holding larger quantities than something heftier.

I didn’t experience any quality control issues, no extra glass or irregularities. The plastic stopper in the top seems a bit flimsy. I would have preferred a glass stopper. This is very functional however and fits nicely on both the door of my fridge and on the shelf. The shape is nice, easy to hold onto and pour from. In general, a nice, handy pitcher even if there is nothing to rave about.

I don't think so, did they say when they would be dropped?

False advertising, ha ha ha ha.

The only thing gained would be a very appreciative civil suit lawyer charging $400 an hour for his/her services.

I have the same Mercrusier sterndrive 140HP setup 24 years older than yours and I can get an average adult (near 170 lbs) up on skis/wakeboards with no problem.

Here are the likely causes of fault of your issue of not getting yourself and/or others on ski/skis:

    Skier error. (80% of likelihood)

    - Its amazing how many times people can do the same wrong technique on the water endless times without recognizing the right way to do it.

Boat operator during the towing (10%)

    - Inexperienced boater at pulling skiers, they either hit the hammer (throttle) too early, too fast, too late, too slow, etc.

If your boat operator doesn't do the towing correctly, you can definitely have a hard time getting up or staying up.

    Wrong prop pitch (5%)

A wrong prop pitch can ruin a boat's ability to quickly pull the individual out of the water. That's why you see so many complain about their boat not pulling up skiers problems and they mention a 21 or 23 pitch prop.

If you run a prop pitch of 21 or higher, you need to switch to a prop with a pitch of 19. 19 pitch is the best balance of power vs top speed performance for most Mercrusier sterndrives from 120 to 200 HP.

    Boat capacity near limit (5%)

Its amazing how significant the performance loss that occurs when a boat is very close to its weight capacity limit.

Always try to keep the fuel, gear, and passengers to 85% of combined weight limit or less.

That's why for my boat that has a capacity of 6 people, I only allow 4 adults (including me) and 2 small children on at a time.

My advice is to bring a friend who is a highly experienced boater with significant experience at towing skiers/wakeboarders the next time you go to the water.

Have this person monitor your technique and also monitor the boat operator's towing technique as well. I'm sure this person could find ways to improve both of these areas.
