SuperDrive is a trademark used by Apple Inc. for removable disc drives of its computers.
From 1988 to 1999 the 3.5” high density floppy drive served under this name in early Macintosh desktop and laptop computers and in external drives, connected through a special Macintosh floppy port.
In 2001 the CD-ROM drive was recognized as a standard that all computers should have, so apple changed its removable disc drive too, but kept the original SuperDrive name.

hmmm… this is like the iPad’s release yesterday… people still preferred the apple lisa over this because u could easily multi-task. the macintosh originally didn’t have multiple apps, u had to get a program called switcher… but over time it caught on and was improved, similarly to the way the iPhone improved… I can’t wait to see what happens with the iPad and Microsoft’s code named Courier seeing as how much this computer has evolved

Hi, I am afraid you do have to push the putton as trying to push it in by hand can not only damage the drive motor that dose the job it can also damage the ratchet rack as this has teeth on it and can be easly damaged so please use the button that's what it is there for. They would not put one there if it was not nessassery.
