MUSIC INDUSTRY: Exclusive Deal for Hendrix at Scattertunes

March 21st, 2010

Experience Hendrix, LLC in partnership with Sony Legacy inked an exclusive deal with ScatterTunes to re-release the partial catalog of Jimi Hendrix as well as his latest, ?Valleys of Neptune,” via their V-Album technology.

The V-Album, short for Virtual-Album, was created by ScatterTunes founder and CEO Witt Stewart of Texas. A music veteran of more than 30 years, Stewart aims to fortify catalog items with digital technology that bridges the gap between conventional releases and a product packed with bonus material.

?Nowadays people download one song,” said Stewart. ?The V-Album is different. in the case of Jimi Hendrix, you get liner notes, scanned handwritten copies of lyrics, and things like that really re-create the message of the artist.”

Similar to iTunes, the V-Album is a computer-based music-listening format that exports to all MP3 devices, including iTunes and Apple products. The Hendrix discography offered on ScatterTunes includes 1967 releases ?Are You Experienced” and ?Axis: Bold as Love,” Hendrix’s 1968 studio album ?Electric Ladyland,” the 1997 release of ?First Rays of the New Rising Sun,” and the latest, ?Valleys of Neptune,” which bowed at No. 4 on the Billboard comprehensive albums chart last week.

Each album download comes with features like hi-resolution digital photos, a digital CD booklet, links to Hendrix merchandise and, in all but one case (“Valleys of Neptune”), a short documentary video.

?Valleys of Neptune” became available on March 9, as did the Hendrix’s V-Album catalogue. ScatterTunes has relationships with each of the four major labels and has already released V-Albums for Katy Perry, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer and has many more in the pipeline.

Besides organising your Itunes files ipod copy makes sure that it is the program that controls Itunes and your pod ..One thing you could do is open it ( ipod copy ) and then open the options menu , make sure that "ask before opening Itunes " is not checked off ..Then close it ..You might have to make sure it is totaly closed . IF your running widows XP press the " alt control ,delete " keys to bring up your windows task manager window , in the processes window find Ipod copy . exe and right click on it and end the process ..
After you do that open Itunes and check to see if it will now allow you to do this .
Ipod copy and similar programs bascially set them selves up to control your Ipod when it's connected , which normaly would be Itunes job .. so closing the application might help …
Once your sure Ipod copy is not running open Itunes do not connect your pod yet , once Itunes is open connect your Ipod and let Itunes recoginse it .. make sure Ipod copy does not open …then try to change your settings again if that won't work then eject your Ipod and install Itunes again and then go to your C/ program files/ Itunes/ folder and open it using the logo there .. and after it opens connect your Ipod and try once more .
I am thinking the whole problem is with Ipod copy and not Itunes as it does gain control over the IPod when it connects in order to be able to manipltale your Itunes files .. so when ever you connet your ipod unless you want to use Ipod copy make sure its not running and doing a fresh install of Itunes may over ride it .. another thing you can look for is in Itunes click on edit then prefferences and then advanced make sure keep itunes music folder organized is checked ..
I will come back and see if you leave any additional comments but hopefully this will work …
good luck .. remember open Itunes first before connecting your IPOD therefore letting you decide what program is going to be in charge …sort of …

Who doesn’t want to read faster? Sadly, if you do a Google search for “speed reading,” a lot of the sites that come up either try to sell you very expensive software or feel like a scam. Currently, however, Apple is featuring QuickReader in its iTunes store, which brings a much-needed breath of fresh air to the world of speed reading apps. At its core, QuickReader is a fully featured e-reader app with a connection to Feedbooks, but the app is also a great tool for learning to increase your reading speed. Sponsor While there are already quite a few speed reading apps for the iPhone, most of them tend to offer a very limited number of books (or expect you to copy and paste text from other sites) and often only flash word at you instead of helping you to read regular books and articles faster. QuickReader’s approach is different. Instead of flashing words at you at a set speed – which can quickly become very tiring – the app displays a whole page of text and then gives you visual…
